Thomas myth in Chennai: Even in 2017 and 2019, the myth is perpetuated and enjoyed with blood, martyr and other theologies!

Thomas Charles Negy book, 2019

The research of Thomas Charles Nagy on Thomas myth in Chennai: One Thomas Charles Nagy presented, “A thesis submitted to the Victoria University of Wellington in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Studies,” to the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2014 with the title, “Catholic shrines in Chennai, India: The politics of renewal and apostolic legacy”. And it was published in he form of book in 2017 by Routledge. Definitely, none bothered in Chennai about the researcher, his thesis or book in Chennai. However, as I have been following their fraudulent methodology, yes I assert straight away fraudulent, because, these people have been elite, rich and highly positioned people, unlike poor, oppressed and suppressed Indians like us. Moreover, when he met, interviewed and referred to many papers, books and references, it is surprising that he could not go to the sources in Chennai. When he could mention the Christian priests, S. Muthaiah, Ishwar Sharan[1] and so on, then, it is not known, why he could not meet, interview or refer to M. Deivanayagam, Alexander Harris, Vedaprakash[2] and others in Chennai. Henry Jene book[3] published in 2019 is not discussed in this article.

His selective research methodology of interviewing and referring to sources: I have read his thesis, carefully for five times and more certain lines and passages. The claims made by him have been intriguing, shocking and amazing, as, in Chennai he could meet only those people, as he recorded and others are not in Chennai or do not know what the Catholic and other Christians have been doing about Thomas myth. Now, I take the issue of murder of Jacob Fernandez on November 26, 2006 by Ramesh Babu, as it has been well recorded by the media, High court and supreme court cases. In fact, I myself recorded in by blog on the subject matter in two parts[4]. I captioned my blog in Tamil[5] as, “Blood, murder, encroachment, jewel theft – why crimes continue on the Parangi malai from the Portuguese period to till date.” Now, I find that he comes to the same point of blood.Nagy promoting thomas myth-Jacob memorial

Thomas Charles Nagy wearing with blood on the martyrdom of Jacob: Thomas Charles Nagy noted that, “On November 26th 2006, a “fanatic” came to the mount to protest. An altercation ensued where he proceeded to attack and kill the manager of the St. Thomas Mount hill shrine, a Christian man by the name of Mr. Jacob. The murderer was arrested and supposedly imprisoned [Interview with Mr. Franks, Chennai, July 16th 2009.  ]. Nobody I spoke with was able to provide any more information, only that the incident was never publicised[6]. However, sometime after Mr. Jacob‘s death, a bell tower memorial was erected on St. Thomas Mount in his honor. Inside the central base of the tower is a plaque bearing an image of the deceased and the following inscription:

This historical monument commemorates with gratitude the heroic martyrdom of Mr. Jacob the Manager of this Shrine. He was killed by a fanatic while defending the Christian ownership of this holy hill on the 26th November 2006 the Solemnity of Christ the King shedding blood on this very spot for his Lord and God after the model of St. Thomas, the Apostle Martyr of this Shrine [Figure 3.4]”.

As it stands, this incident and subsequent memorial serves to reinforce St. Thomas Mount’s significance as the site of the Apostle‘s martyrdom and how Indian Christians today may be called upon to follow in St. Thomas’s footsteps. But in a broader sense, this memorial also attests to Christian claims of indigeneity, which are validated by the belief that St. Thomas shed his blood on Indian soil, a “heroic” legacy that lives on in the sacrifices made by today’s Indian Christians like Mr. Jacob”[7].

Later in the subsequent page he asserted[8] that, “The Church in Chennai clearly is attempting to utilize St. Thomas‘s legacy as a way to claim an indigenous faith, which is highlighted by Mr. Jacob‘s memorial and the link it creates between St. Thomas‘s spilled blood and the soil of India”.

The expressions used by Thomas Charles Nagy: The new-thomas myth researcher has used certain expressions that are listed as follows –

Ø  a Christian man by the name of Mr. Jacob. So he knows that there are Christians with different names that are not Christian
Ø  the incident was never publicised Total lie, as the issue has even gone to the courts.
Ø  to reinforce St. Thomas Mount’s significance as the site of the Apostle‘s martyrdom His motive gets exposed, as he wants to exploit the myth
Ø  to follow in St. Thomas’s footsteps Wants more to get killed or blood to drop…earlier the Christians conducted one seminar there with the bloody warning that the citizens of Madras should answer to the blood of Thomas!
Ø  this memorial also attests to Christian claims of indigeneity, More fakes to be manufactured…
Ø  which are validated by the belief that St. Thomas shed his blood on Indian soil, Elf-certification of the myth floated and frauds continued
Ø  a “heroic” legacy that lives on in the sacrifices made by today‘s Indian Christians like Mr. Jacob What Jacob did or how he provoked the mad man to kill him….not known..
Ø  The Church in Chennai clearly is attempting to utilize St. Thomas‘s legacy as a way to claim an indigenous faith, Good, that cat is out ……..and one more to accept such bloody plan.
Ø  which is highlighted by Mr. Jacob‘s memorial and the link it creates between St. Thomas‘s spilled blood and the soil of India. Oh, how blood works, Eucharist reacts, flesh eaten and blood drunk,……yes, the Madarasis should know all these facts.

If he wants, he can declare that Christians have been cannibals drinking blood and eating flesh and that is only incorporated in “Eucharist,” now symbolically changed to :bread and wine”. Thus, his intention, motive and purport have been very clear, “Do not think that I come to bring peace but sword.” By calling others “Hindu fanatics” etc., I want to create problem swearing with blood. Then, what is the difference between that psychic killer and this elite blood curling wearing researcher. Both have been educated, but, perverted and lost their mental imbalance and decided to do what they wanted.

Who is Ramesh Babu, what happened to him and why he killed Jacob?: Nagy, though swears with blood for Jacob, ne never mentions Ramesh Babu. From the court judgment[9], the following details are available, “……the accused studied in Hindu Vidyalaya school and thereafter joined B.E. Mechanical Course in Anna University and got employment in the campus interview at Tamil Nadu Petrochemicals Limited, Manali and studied M.S in SPIC and after serving ten years at TPL, suddenly he declared that he is Kalki Bhagavan and would not go for employment and he used to read religious books like ‘Thevaram’, ‘Dhiviyabharatham’ and would state that his brain waves have been taken in the computer and being viewed by others and would speak loudly …………………after the treatment by Dr.Bashyam, the accused went to Paris in France and employed there in 2005 and thereafter he returned home and refused to take the drugs by saying that he is ‘Kalki Bhagavan’….” The cppurt sentenced him for life without attributing any motive properly.  The pointed lines have been – “……on seeing Jacob, asked him as to whether the Mount can be given or not and Manager Jacob told him to go and meet the Father…”, and, “Actuated by religious fanaticism , he had ventured to attack the victim to death. ” The court has not analyzed as to why he asked “the mount,” or what Jacob told him, why Ramesh wanted to meet “the Father,” instead, he decided to stab  Jacob……are intriguing. Of course, Nagy exactly delved upon these points as a Christian or fundamentalist Christian, one has to decide.

Eucharist, cannibalism

“Blood theology” cannot be invoked to spill blood: By perpetuating and continuing such unhistorical myths with bloody plans as get exposed through the new researcher Thomas Charles Nagy, one has to be careful. What the Christians want to do for spilling of more blood. What type of bloody designs they have to implement ingeniously? If  Thomas Charles Nagy decides that Ramesh killed Jacob for property dispute, as he tried to stress upon, then, it would lead to different consequences. The Madras Bishop, and others should be responsible and careful to note that none should be provoked in this way. “Blood theology” cannot be invoked to spill blood. Violence is not the way to engage in dialogue or inter-religious approach for understanding.
